More significant were the comments of the commissioners at the Special Meeting at which the Final Decision was officially ratified. These included a barely audible Chairman DelGobbo stating, "This decision cannot and should not be construed as an invitation to proceed with any particular workforce reductions but it is hopefully more of an explicit reminder that these particular companies' actions are important itself in light of the greater scrutiny tha might be in a traditional relationship and I think this decision recognizes that."
For a company (Iberdrola USA) that purports to desire better relationships with its regulators, this does not bode well.
The meeting was attended by officers of the CIUW, officers of Steelworkers Local 12000, Attorney J. William Gagne, DPUC staff, and Consumer Counsel Mary J. Healey. The only Company attendee was Greg Therrien.
The Company and the CIUW have begun effects bargaining.
